Adidas Athlete, Kai Lightner, Shows up in a Big Way

Kai Lightner chats with IFSC World Champion, and BFL Climbing Combine Winner, Natalia Grossman as she cools down from a big win.

When Kai Lightner first learned about the Climbing Combine from, CEO, Aman Anderson, he was on board. Kai has been wanting to do something in the Beast Fingers Community for a while, including hosting a block party.

When the COVID-19 lockdown happened, a lot of those plans were put on hold. And as Denver started to pull through in reduction of cases, and events started happening again, we were so excited Kai agreed to come commentate the live stream.

Lightner has a bigger than life personality. One second with Kai Lightner, and you begin to smile. He brought a breath of fresh air to the commentating. With one live stream subscriber saying;

β€œThe longer I listen to Kai's commentary, the more I appreciate it. His voice is calm, which is nice since I'm listening/watching early in the morning while I make breakfast.”

He has a track record of his own, not shying away from the winning circle:

  • 3rd Place Open, North American Cup Series (Bouldering), June 12-13, 2021 (Salt Lake City, UT)

  • 1st Place Open, Pan American Championship (Lead), November 21-26, 2018 (Guayaquil, Ecuador)

  • 2nd Place Open, Pan American Championship (Combined), November 21-26, 2018 (Guayaquil, Ecuador)

  • 1st Place Open, Steel Town Throw Down -National Cup Bouldering Series,September 21-22, 2018 (Pittsburgh, PA)

With his eyes set on the Olympics, we were so glad he took a little time away to come give back to the community. A lot of members of our community had only seen him in pictures hanging on the wall. Where now, he is here in real life.
